Vaginal ultrasound examination of the female pelvis (2D or 3D)
The small pelvis (lat. pelvis minor) is the space between the pelvic entrance and the pelvic floor and is the part of the pelvis that contains the internal genital organs and the lower parts of the urinary system, e.g. the bladder. A vaginal ultrasound of the small pelvis can already clarify some important basic aspects: whether there are fibroids (muscle knots), polyps (mucosal growths), malformations or endometriosis foci in the uterus, what the endometrium is like and, if the ultrasound takes place in the middle of the cycle, whether follicles (follicles) can be detected.
